Shop
The RTDGS shop, which serves both Stourbridge and Fairfax plot holders, is open for one hour a day on Saturday and Sunday during spring and summer. It is stocked with a good range of useful items, such as seeds, compost, fleece, weed control fabric, canes, netting, and many other items and services. The shop also manages potato and seed orders for plot holders every year. The Allotment Shop is located near the main entrance to the Stourbridge Grove site. It serves plot holders from both sites, and is open on Saturdays (11:00 to 12:00) and Sundays (14:00 to 15:00) from February to November. The shop is closed during August.
We sell composts, manure, strulch, ground cover fabric enviromesh and fleece, and a range of nettings. We also have tree stakes, bamboo canes, fertilisers, soil improvers, seeds, watering cans and much more. Our prices are cheaper than garden centres. We only accept cash or cheques (no money is kept in the building when the shop is closed).
Through the shop, from October onwards, you can collect order forms for seed potatoes and seed catalogues, and order seeds and potatoes at a greatly reduced cost. Orders are ready for collection in February.
The shop is entirely run by volunteers, and we are always happy to welcome new volunteers. Volunteers do a shift every four weeks or so. When we have a delivery of large quantities of heavy stuff, we rely on volunteers to help - at short notice unfortunately. If you live close to Stourbridge Grove, work from home and would be prepared to give us your mobile number to be contacted for help with deliveries, please let us know.
